Our Chromedale Maternals are the sheep that have put Chrome on the map & utilise the benefits of a number of productive breeds mostly Coopworth, Perendale, Poll Dorset and the odd small infusion of East Friesian. Poll Dorset ram sales have increased every year since the studs' inception - further proof the rams are "doing the job".
ICON POLL DORSETS
ICON Poll Dorset stud which was founded in 2002 & has become a force to reckon with in the terminal sire industry, due to some large scale AI & Embryo Transfer programs. Their superior mothering ability, fertility & suitability to wet environments has to be seen to be believed by most people.
COOPWORTHS
Coopworths make up the backbone of many self replacing ewe flocks in southern Australia and for a very good reason. Perendales are compact nuggetty sheep with black hooves & noses, extremely hardy & worm tolerant.
PERENDALES
Perendales produce moderate frame score progeny that have very good early maturity as sucker lambs. They are bred with extra focus on tighter lamb pelts and a slightly earlier breeding season for those producers who still want to lamb in April/May/June. (more).
