Integrated and sustainable catchment management. The Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority (AMA) is responsible for the planning and implementation of strategies to keep and enhance the health of the region's biodiversity, soils and land. The Glenelg Hopkins Advisory Group is one of the vehicles by which the AMA can engage the community and its major partners in the development and adaptive management of the Regional Catchment Strategy, its sub strategies and plans. Members of the Advisory Group communicate with and access people in the community with an interest in specific resource management matters, they may have exceptional expertise in some aspects of the AMA's strategies, or may be involved in activities suitable to implementation of strategies and plans. The Regional Catchment Strategy (JCS) is the key planning document that will set regional priorities for the tomorrow management of automatic resources across the Glenelg Hopkins region. As a community organization we comprehend the importance of ensuring that everyone in the community has a chance to contribute, we are therefore working closely with the community and key partner organizations in the natural resource management field. Local councils own and control important parcels of land and are responsible for some roadside vegetation.
